No problem, glad i could help, i checked with a friend from Silves and she said its from the 29th to the 32st from 11am to 8pm at the S. Marcos da Serra Town in the Church Square, thats a small town north of Silves, still a bit far away, kinda the same distance as to Barão de São João.

Well there aren’t that many details I’m sorry, its just one of those things that they do every year but they don’t advertise it much, still the news is on Local Government Website here > http://www.freguesiabaraosaojoao.pt/portal/v1.0/detalhe_evento.asp?id=71 and on the City Hall here > http://www.cm-lagos.pt/portal_autarquico/lagos/v_pt-PT/pagina_inicial/noticias/feira_folar_docaria_concerto.htm and yes they are in portuguese (but if you have more question feel free to ask).

Now regarding avoiding the toll, sure! just take the N125 in the direction of Lagos, after you pass Lagos still on the N125, you will get to Espiche, get out of the N125 on Espiche and follow the signs and road to Barão de S. João, its a small town so you will find the Fair easily ( here is a map i made so just follow it! http://goo.gl/maps/56uNs ), also bring an umbrella, seems the forecast this year is for some rain.

As a sidenote, its traditional in Portugal to have the Easter Sunday festivities, although i only talked about the ones around Luz, there are plenty through the Algarve, the main ones will be in Silves (from the 29th to 32st) and Guia (only on the 31st).
